These scripts are quickly created on demand, and powerful in terms of meeting the needs of the average user. INNODB tables are NOT supported. The first column in each table must be the sole unique identifier. Basic lookups to other tables are easily configured, however the creation of complex JOIN statements can be rather time consuming. Creating a VIEW using phpMyAdmin, followed by making a phpMyEdit script to read (but not edit) the VIEW, is often easier than creating a JOIN. phpMyEdit free versionIf you've ever spent an entire day writing PHP scripts to interact with just one MySQL™ table, you really need to do yourself a favor and try phpMyEdit. phpMyEdit is the fastest and most convenient way to generate basic web forms (PHP scripts) to interact with a MySQL MyISAM type database table. phpMyEdit based web forms are highly configurable, ideal for administrative interfaces, and often suitable for public web forms. phpMyEdit is a basic component of several complex information systems. Functionality of the generated PHP script (along with the included class file) facilitate adding, viewing, changing, deleting, listing, and searching records. Note: phpMyEdit works with MyISAM type tables where the first column is the unique record identifier. If downloading the free version of phpMyEdit be sure to use the CVS browser to locate the more recent version of the class file. Use use the phpMyEdit Forum to share your tips for using phpMyEdit or to receive technical support. If you're using MySQL™ database and PHP, and you're NOT using phpMyEdit, you're wasting a great deal of time. (the phpMyEdit maintainer) with documentation for version 5.3 of phpMyEdit because this is a very worthwhile open source
project. Although Ondrej lives, works, and studies in the Slovak Republic, he also works occasionally for Symmetry Software in Scottsdale, Arizona.
